View Full Version : Two recent coppers - one sorta crusty and the other a stunning beauty

Hi all,

Here's some shots of my two most recent coppers dug over the past 10 days. The rest of my finds were basically a pile of plain flat buttons and some musket balls. The 1836 Matron has some partially decent green patina on her, but portions of the coin are pretty crummy. Dug the 1798 DB (Style 2 hair) just this past Wednesday. Only 2 inches deep in very rocky soil on a well-drained slope which is why she held up so well after 200+ years in the ground. A real stunner. Thanks for looking.

Nice finds, and that DB hardly looks like it has element exposure. Congrats!

I love those 1700's DB's. It's been a while. I need to go find me one like that :envious:.

Thanks Drew! Yep, Matron came from a cart road along the edge of a field which was not well draining, so happy to get the coin in at least so-so condition.

Thanks much! Yeah, just some minor corrosion as it held up quite well.

That DB is super!

Thanks Jared!
