Braved the modern trash and got a few keepers

I hit a cellar hole site that must have been a camping spot back in the 1970s. I've avoided detecting in that area of the site just because I don't like dealing with modern trash if I don't have to. You guys that hunt yards and parks have all my respect. Anyway, I sucked it up and ventured into that trashy spot. Managed some fancy buttons, a crusty 1835 Matron, little knee buckle. Not sure what the round stamped brass object it. I'll guess and say it's trash, but I am pretty sure Dan will correct me and show that it is some fancy military ornament.

It was a PITA digging those beaver tails and balls of foil, flattened Pepsi can at 1 foot etc., but it was fun hunt none the less.

Congrats Jeff , I commend you on confronting your dislikes and working out of your norms to get the goods . Working the trash can payoff a lot of times . your stamped brass item looks like a type of brass furniture bling commonly known as a bed bolt cover like these examples . they come in many different designs 69805

You have some patience there Jeff! Don't know if I could handle all that modern stuff. Yeah, I'm willing to dig a few beer/pop cans along roadways at old sites, but a modern day camping site - that's tough! Congrats on pulling a few keepers!

For those of us that hunt parks/homes all the time, I tell you what, you get darn good with the detector. It does cause a lot of ear fatigue though (I run no discrimination, so I hear it all).
