This Saturday I met up with Scott (catskillcomics), Aaron (hockeyguy), and their friend John at a NY park. Even though the finds were meager we had a good time detecting on that beautiful day. It was a pleasure to get together with you guys, and it was nice to finally meet you, Aaron. thumbsup01

I had hoped to score with more silver, but the park was stingy. lol I scored with one silver Roosevelt dime, a 1848 large cent, two Indian Head cents, four wheat cents, and a silver ring.

Today in the afternoon I headed to a local site and dug up a few old wheat cents, a Merchants Exchange Hard Times Token, two Indian Head Cents, and a scarce date 1893-O Barber dime. It's not as in great shape as the one I found last year, but she is still a beauty. :smitten:

Nice finds. :happydance01:

The more I see you guys posting large cents, the higher up the wish list that coin gets for me.

Glad to hear you got out with some fellow treasure hunters... sounds like a great day.

Congrats on the Barber dime.

hey, bring one of those to our next hunt. I've never seen one and I suppose I should know what to look for.

Yes Angel it was nice to finally meet you after being internet acquaintances for 3 years or so. The park was stingy and I think you made the right call leaving the area to find more productive lands. I was happy to squeak out a merc along the sidewalk there and 4 or 5 wheats. That place has been hit hard by the clubs....John told me he's seen MD armies rofl there before! :embarrassed:

Nice hunting, as always. Just goes to show that even if a place is hit by armies that things can still be found with a bit of effort, then again look who I'm telling lol

Don't let them NY parks scare you Angel lol They just need a little more prompting to let them silvers go :bop: :bop: Still, you scored some nice coins out of there :clapping: Nothing is ever hunted out, just deeper and more masked that our present technologies allow. Nice &quot:daydream: Barber.

Any hunt you can pull a LC and a couple Of IH's is a good day!I assume you were in the upper Hudson Valley.I drove my wife on Sat. to a big Knitting and wool fair in Rhinecliff.I had 6 hours to detect and shot across to Kingston and hit 5 parks based Google Earth being I never detected here.I guess Hockey Guy and Catskill Comic must have cleaned these parks up,even though they looked old,I only ended up with a Merc and a couple of Wheats.

A Merc and some wheats is a real good hunt considering how many people have detected them parks over the years. You are doing something right when you find silver. I've come home with no silver many, many times before lol

Hey Tom, Yeh I frequent that fairgrounds quite often. Maybe you should of stayed at the fairgrounds as I do find silver there on a pretty regular bases. As for the old parks in kingston.. they have been hit many times over the years by not just us, but others as well.. Im sure there is more silver in them, just well hidden these days.
