View Full Version : 4 Mercs from an early morning hunt...

Boy the sunrise is sure taking it's good ol' sweet time now.

I had exactly one hour to hunt this morning. I wasn't going to get up early to go today, but I just had to try a new spot out.

Picked up two of the Mercs right out of the gate and the other two just before I had to go. The Buffalo is probably one of the nicer ones I have dug. A lot more detail than the rest.

Also, I have found 5 keys just like the one today at 5 different locations in Dubuque. I don't keep too many keys, but I do like the older looking ones.

Sometimes I think I do much better on short hunts compared to the longer ones. :confused:

That buffalo nickel is indeed in very nice condition, full date and all. Lovely looking mercury dimes too. That was a great short hunt. thumbsup01

That's a great silver score for only an hour hunt. Congrats! I like the older keys too.

Just got permission last night to detect a place downtown by Five Flags. A little too much traffic during the work week, but we should definitely consider going back during the weekend when it's a little quieter and we can spend more time than I had today. You game? :yes:


After taking the above pictures I cleaned up the Mercs by running them under water to get the excess dirt off. I hadn't realized at the time, but one of the 44's has some exceptional detail.

ummm , weekends are tough , i get home late on friday, in c.r. friday night , how early .
