went out today with Frank.started out as another button day  at the first site.
a couple big designed tombacs and a tiny plain one
then finally got a nice coin signal in a low area ,very wet there. between cellar hole & barn hole runs a small stream..it was near stream
ended up being a toasty Massachussetts copper.tied my last years total now. <:
next site gave up the pocket watch winder, merc, wheaties and a ton of brass targets.the 2nd site is colonial too but lived in up until much later than the 1st site.seems like alot of victorian era brass stuff at 2nd cellar hole

Good hunt, Dave! Congrats on your 32nd copper! I have to say, that sink must see a lot of dirt after each hunt. lol

Congrats on that toasty copper. I knew you would get out of that mini slump :happydance01: It's nice that you could at least ID it. Some cool looking buttons and a bit of silver too. Looks like a great hunt to me!!

thanks you guys! weird thing is...all the raised part of the coin are eaten away.there is some shiny glazed patina that formed in the fields of the coin and that wasn't affected that much at all by whatever ate away the raised portion of the coin

I have had that happen a lot. Sometimes you are reading the letters that are now gone. Kinda a reverse image is left, with the letters eaten away and now sunken into the coin. But most of the background is smooth as silk.
