I went out for a little while this morning chasing my 99th and 100th silver coin at the old hospital... today I found them. <: I have officially entered the 100 club.

Back in August I was sitting with 21 silver coins for the year using my Ace 250. I was happy with 21, but was a little worried I wouldn't be able to make my goal of 50 for the year.

So I decided to upgrade to the Minelab, hoping the better machine would allow me to hit 50 with the remaining time in the season. Well... long story short I hit 50 pretty quick and the Minelab kept finding silver everywhere I hunted, including spots I pounded with the Ace. I really love this machine.

First silver target of the day was the quarter... Excellent, only one more to get.

Second silver target was the ring. Not sure what kind of stone it holds, but it is quite beautiful. I'll have to check into the hallmark, it is a very nicely designed ring.

Third silver target came out of the hole with the initial excavation which I didn't notice. Stuck my probe in the hole and didn't get a signal and glanced at my dirt pile and saw the beautiful hint of 100 peeking out of a clump of dirt.... <:

The IH was a nice surprise as well. I had a great day of detecting.

#100 hiding in the dirt...

Congrats on 100 :peace: :clapping: :clapping: :cheering: I'm on the two year plan myself lol Nice to see you got that and a beautiful ring. Sure it's silver or is it maybe white gold?? It looks like a fire opel in there and can't really make out what the maker's mark says. But a great piece of jewelry. Both you and Scott should trade in your Minelabs before it's too late lol

I don't think its necessary all about using minelabs, I think its more about we're both from the Kress family... rofl

We don't allow gangs in here. You let one Kress in and they all follow lol I think it's both the Minelabs and the Kress touch :clapping:

Interesting... I just air tested the ring and it rang up consistently at the nickel range. :thinkingabout: It came out of the ground nice and shinny so I figured it was silver. I don't remember the specific id when I dug it, but I usually dig the nickel/pull tab signals if they stick.

I'll have to get a better picture of the hallmark up. Below the hallmark I can read MEX. It almost looks like it was made into a ring after the fact.

Congratulations, Joe! :beerbuddy: That is an amazing accomplishment, especially these days of hard-to-find silver. You still have time, so keep adding to the pile. thumbsup01

Congratz :happydance01: :clapping: <: on getting to 100. It is a sweet feeling, isn't it? Maybe the ring is platinum.

Here are a few more pics. Not the best.... I guess I need to get a macro lens for MDing. lol Actually, I have been thinking about it.

Sure looks like the ring is silver. It was deep enough to make me think it might have a little age to it. Couldn't find the hallmark on 925-100.com

Any info or suggestions are appreciated.

It might have originally been a pendant or they just put on a different band on it, partially covering up the maker's info. If it rings in the nickle range and is not some type of white gold (or platinum), then maybe it's a mix of silver and possibly nickel?? It sure tarnishes like silver though  I don't know, but a nice older piece :clapping:

You should get a test kit. It comes with acids for various karats of gold, and silver and platinum. I never have doubts about unstamped jewelery anymore. The one I got was about $15 on amazon.com.

Thanks, I think I will get one. I have a few rings in the pile that I am curious about.
