hit a cellar hole in the afternoon with Frank. a couple flat buttons,a plain tombac button,a 51-D rosie(50th silver this year) and my fave is this little rectangular brass item with a post on back.has what looks like initials etched on it.1st letter being A.last being H?
any ideas what this mighta been used for? maybe an initialed nameplate that was hammered into a piece of wood? perhaps a gun stock?

Congrats on the 50th silver, Dave! You must have enjoyed the beautiful day out in the woods too, as it was quite pleasant today.

Congrats on being half way to the 100 club :clapping: Nice to see silver in any way, shape or form thumbsup01 I don't know what that initialed piece is, but it looks like it was meant to be on a slightly rounded piece. Cane, carriage, who knows lol Some nice relics....I see a Model A(?) Ford hubcap too. I think mine were from around 1926 or so. I bet it was a great day to be out in the woods.

The piece itself looks old too. Hard to tell if it's strictly colonial or if it ventures into the early 1800's. But I would call it colonial. Looks like most of my coppers look like lately lol
