My Fav. Relic Find to Date

Thought I'd finally post up and decided to put up one of my fav. relic finds to date...found in a field that I call my honey spot. It has been hit hard not only by myself but all my detecting friends who have come to visit me.

The site dates from 1790s & up. So like crackerjacks you never know what you'll get :yes:

This was a broken nasty sounding - almost passed it by thinking another rotten piece of &*# tractor crapola!! Something MADE me dig...

Yes Steveo a few have, none with the Etrac, just the exploder I call them, older model. I'd love to get my hands on one or have someone with one retest in my spots to see what I may/may not have missed. :yes: Tho I purdy darn confident in my xlt skills thumbsup01

Haven't a clue, but I doubt it, as shells can be quite brittle, and this looks to have been something rolled...and I can tell it was silvered, as there are still areas with small bits.

Tho in shells defense...I did find a homemade shell button there with a U.S. silver 1820s dime directly attached underneath...what a surprise that was!!! I went mental (which isn't hard for me), looking for that dang target---that was funny that day!!! lol

I'd venture to say it dates the early period to 1812ish. Lot of history here. Sadly alot of the area is thick with poison ivy and more creeping in ea. year :mad: There are areas I know would have great possibilities...but not in this lifetime :( Darn rotten nasty stuff!!
