I found this at a site that dates from mid 1800's to early 1900's I've found about 30 old coins out of this spot but can't figure out what this was on or is. HH

Tough to say, but it is a nice piece. Not good at people but is that Washington?? If you could see any evidence of lead in the back side, then it could have been mounted that way. I usually label everything as a horse harness decoration until someone smart comes along and tells me what it really is lol

Very cool , I'm having a hard time gauging how big it is without a coin next to it .I'm wondering if it came off of a Patriotic memorial or some kind of plaque or award . Looks like it's George Washington's face to me .
From something with the name Washington like Washington Mutual or something like that ? Wasn't George Washington a Mason ? Could be Masonic or some other organization .It sure has me wondering . thumbsup01 thumbsup01 8)

Its about 6 long and about 4 wide at the widest point,I think its Washington. I found this there as well it was gold plated at one time it had very little left on it before I cleaned it up then the rest came off. I think it was a charm or jewelry piece when I seen a little gold on the edge I thought I found my first gold piece but I'm not that lucky, still cool though. It kinda looks like an old gold piece on the front but the back looks just like a 2 center with a 1864 date and thats the date of the oldest coin from there so far.

The bust looks like it had some silver gilt left on it but I donated it to the township historical society along with a couple other items I found there for the exhibit about the place where I found these items.

yea that dude is on the quarter........ in1794 the largest whiskey producer in america was george washington .he was a wheat farmer by trade( when he wasnt killing redcoats) and back in the day they had to do something with all the grain that didnt sell or could not be sold because of its condition.so old george got him some copper line, yeast, sugar and went to work .. george washington ,, brewer,, patriot.. god bless him :peace:
