I decided to give the woods I went to a couple days ago another try, I didn't find a heck of a lot but it was nice getting out of the house and getting some exercise. The metal object on the bottom left of the picture read high like a silver quarter (VDI 86) and it's way to heavy to be aluminum (18.5 grams) and it really cleaned up nice with some baking soda. :-\

It's harder than silver solder, you ain't gonna melt this with a butane torch

Not in the last couple of days though Del, its only been in the single digits and teens and that's just too cold for me, heck I never went ice fishing unless it was above 20 degrees and then I brought a hand warmer along with big old mitten's too, the arctic kind work best when ice fishing but ya gotta take them off to get the fish off the line and that's when the handwarmers came in handy before putting the mittens back on.

I detected last week in the woods and came up with a clad dime and a 1950 wheat. The ground was like digging in cement and I really had to work to get those two items. Come on spring!
