Anyone else in the Deep Freeze? :frozen:

-17º F right now and dropping steadily.

Tonight's low supposed to be -37º F with a -50º F windchill - this ain't t-shirt weather anymore :poke:

I am glad the wind isn't really blowing!

House is groaning and popping, kinda sounds like maybe the concrete slab is breaking underneath. :dontknow:

I did too!
I used to work year round putting in underground phone cable. I've dug hundreds of hole through the frost with jackhammers
But on days like this, when we couldn't keep the water hoses ,for the directional drills, thawed out and running we'd get the day off :frozen:
It didn't bother me one bit !! lol

Heat Wave today 21º F

Funny how when it gets soooo cold for awhile, temps like today feel like summer.

I walk out to the mailbox in just a t-shirt, shovel snow without gloves.....

Man... you are way up there!! Great area during the spring, summer and fall. All three months of it. lol
It is harsh in your neck of the woods, but I almost moved up your direction several years ago to Ely, Minnesota. Family and a sprouting courtship kept me here. Love your region though... during those three months. :)

And during those 3 months, the sparrow sized skeeters drain your blood supply if you step outdoors.

I am really not sure why I live here.

Oh yeah... I remember those skeeters. Anything less than 100% Deet is just a marinade.

I know why you live there... one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

Hang in there, the ground should be thawed by July. rofl :poke:

Howdy Pard!
Predicted high on Colorado's Front Range calls for 56 degrees today, and 60+ for tomorrow.
I'm gonna go hunt. Will be thinking good thoughts for you folks in the path of weather, and
hope it passes for you before too long and you can get out and enjoy some hunting. Meanwhile,
I'll be trying my best with a questionable knee!

Blessings,
M-Taliesin
