I feel so honored to have been invited by a couple (Hillbilly Dave, Linda) and their son Ron (I met them at our local MD club) to join them in a hunt of property next to Perryville Battlefield in Ky. As you can see in the pics, it's beautiful country.

Sunny in the 40's :happydance01:

Everyone did good finding some relics; buckshot, mini-balls and such. I found a 200 yr old civilian button. The pics don't do it justice- it says Warranted Fine Gold Surface w/sun rays, all in gold lettering. It was out in the middle of nowhere in a field near an old cellar hole! I'm looking forward to going back.

If anything it was a fun adventure, getting in touch with nature and good excercise! And got some great pics. I love the sunset with the silhouettes of the detectorists against the sky...

Great hunt Tana! :peace:

You folks looked armed for business.

Sure would be exciting to be able to hunt on a CW battlefield.

Great site, great weather, great finds... doesn't really get better.

Congrats on the button. :clapping: All pictures are great... but the silhouette of the hunters on the horizon is fantastic.

Howdy Kiddo!
I'd love to have a shot at a Civil War site, but we didn't get much Civil War type activity around these parts.
So, here in Colorado, pickin's are slim in that particular regard.

Maybe one day I'll travel east enough to take a shot at it. Looks like a load of fun!

Blessings,

Now a civil war site?!!! You get to hunt all the good spots !! :envious: Who found the three ringer ?

And yeah your not doing the button justice with those pics. I'd love to see the detail on it
Try to take the pictures outside. Mine usually come out 100% better in natural light thumbsup01 Do you have macro on your camera ?

I like the picture of the three soldiers walking into the sunset, leaving the battlefield, with their weapons of choice and their tools of the trade at there sides......

Great post Tawna !!

Dave and Linda's son, Ron, found the 3 ringer... I was so jealous :envious: I mentioned that's the one thing I hoped I found lol down to the 3 ring part. Linda really wants to find a bullet mold. That would be so cool.

I've always wanted to find a bullet mold myself, around here you find stuff like that usually in a plowed field where there use to be a homestead. I've found cakes of lead, old brass trigger guard, my brother found half of a powder flask with a neat scene on it.
