Hi, just joined this forum. It has been recomended to me by several users.
I live in South Wales U.K. and just started in this facinating hobby.
Some may think I'm mad  but I made the decision to go for a top end detector that may be complex to learn, but it should keep me happy for years. If I started low, I know I would upgrade soon and have to un-learn tones/menus and start again with a new detector. So I jumped in at the deep end.

This seems like a happy forum, hope I'm glad to be part of it.

Oh, I got a White's Spectra V3i.

All the best,

Gredge. thumbsup01

Welcome to the forum from SW Arkansas. I went through a similar thought process when I bought my detector a few years ago and bought the DXF. If i had been a member of a good forum like this one I would of heard the rumors of the upcoming release of the newest White's machine. Lots of members on here are very willing to help you with all your MD'ing questions. Matter of fact they are not shy about giving their opinions on most issues.

Thanks for the welcome people, only had my V3i for a week, but downloaded the manual several weeks ago so have had time to give it a good read. Nothing like a hands on though. The DVD that comes with is also informative. Ground has been frozen for a while now, but today the rain came so should defrost a bit. Itching to get out and dig up the past.
Some friends have a house on some land that was part of a Roman vineyard. History shows this area was alot warmer back then. Who knows what I might find. Will post what I do.
Happy hunting.

Gredge.

well hello yourself .. you are lucky........ you have really old history where you are...you know we here are about 240 years out of that little contract thing with the king ...so our history in most of the states are limited as far as anything older than 300 years or so ... welcome .................................

Nitro54, Will post some find when I eventually get out, our weather has gone from frozen ground to non-stop rain. Floods in some parts.
I'm like a flea ridden dog in a cage, itching to get out.
