Went back to the place that gave up the 21 wheats and a couple of silvers last time. This time I got a good deal on the silver/wheat ratio, pulling 6 silvers and 9 wheats in about 3 hours.

First half hour started out kinda frustrating, just pulling deep clad. How does a memorial penny get 7 inches deep? Pulled 5 or 6 clads at 5-7 inches before getting the merc at 7 inches. Deepest silver I've gotten with the V3 so far. Next target was deep as well, but a bit higher, and turned out to the Washington at 6 inches. Only my second one. About a foot over from there was a rosie. I couldn't believe it, 3 targets in a row were silvers.

Pounded on that particular area and managed to pull 2 more rosies, and pulled another at only 4 inches elsewhere, in what I felt was a more obvious area to hunt. Still alot of deep clad hits as well. One of the rosies was near a nickel and the V seemed a bit confused but there was enough contribution from the 2.5 frequency to dig.

I was shocked and am still in shock, as I had never pulled much silver before. I'll tell you it is a pretty sight to see that edge of a silver coin in the dirt, especially with all the deep clad as I'm not sure what I'm going to get. Don't think this place has been hunted too hard, and hope to see if the freeze/thaw cycle pushes some more silvers up next spring.

Starting to get more comfortable with the V as well.

Now that's an incredible day of hunting there! thumbsup01 Six silver in a hunt has to have you on cloud 9! I would continue to hit that place hard and grid that area in particular!

Great day of detecting thumbsup01. V3 is working well!! Were you in a trashy area at all, just wondering if the V3 sniffs out silver in and amongst the trash as good as the E-Trac??

Great finds Randy! I know what you mean about never knowing what your gonna get.Ive got a few sites that have suprisingly deep clad from the 70s & 80s.

No, it is not a trashy area at all. It was used from the 50s-70s, and I don't think heavily used since. So either the top layer of trash and clad has been hunted away, or never dropped (or both). The one silver near a nickel was dicey, but the V gave enough of a dig me signal.

There wasn't much deep trash either. Rather sweet site all around, really. I'd still like to get an E-Trac in there to see if the V is missing stuff.
