First Wheat found at park

I've been at this about 2 weeks now. Until today I've only gotten clad and one silver necklace. But today I went to an area away from the mowed grass. It was tall grass and unkept. There I found my first wheat penny. Hit at a 71 on my F4 at about 4 inches down. I thought it was a dime for sure.

Venturing outside the obvious certainly can produce some nice finds. You'll hit the first silver coin sooner or later... just stick with it. Getting some wheats is always a good sign that silver could be there too.

Wheat pennies hit very close to dimes on my machine too.

Maybe that area is over looked by other hunters because it's over grown. :dontknow:
Go over it in different directions the best you can. You may be onto a sweet spot thumbsup01

nice old find . its a staple in our search..( where there is wheat there is silver). sometimes thats true and sometimes it aint but it gives a good motivational vibe dont it :cheering:
