Hey I found this minnie ball with the V3i. Must have been a left over from the war, never expected to find one in central illinois but i was thrilled to find it. Only thing is i have no idea what caliber it is. Anyone know the answer?

Great find! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

I'm sure Hillbilly Dave, Effie Mae, Civil War Nut or Evan/TN would know the answer to that thumbsup01

it looks to be a .54 caliber three ringer. There were several calibers of these but seems the most common in my parts is a .54 or .58. you will just have to mic it or a set of calipers will do but I would say one or the other. Could possibly even be a .69 caliber and if so then that is a great find.

Nice bullet,I'm gonna go with .58 cal. as they are the most common in my area, you could always measure it.

What does each Cal. measure? This one is just shy of an inch long and 1/2 an inch wide. I know that is not very accurate but it's all i got for now.

Nice bullet. Where did you come across that baby here in Illinois? Sees real odd and out of place. :omg:
