Hello all!
I have been lurking and reading advice for the last couple of days and I thought it was time for me to jump in and join the community.

As the title states, I am new to it all. My coin collection got me interested in MDing and I have decided to see where this hobby can take me.

I am so new to this that I haven't even made my MD purchase yet. I have become interested in the Garrett 350 but I was hoping for some imput from experienced users, I plan on making my purchase at the beginning of next month.

Thank you all in advance for your advice and I look forward to getting to know everyone through the forums.

Hey TheBigFundamental :groovy:
Welcome to the forum from the corn fields of Illinois!!
Glad you came in to join the group and good times!! As for detector purchase you can ask 10 people and get 10 different answers. Some of the best advice I've heard is to try and find a local club or dealer who will let you test drive different models from different manufactures. Kinda play the field and get a feel for the different machines. I've seen quite a few people do really well with the ACE 250. So I'm sure the 350 isn't no push over either. Good luck with your choice thumbsup01

Welcome aboard, TBF. Yes, it's a difficult decision on what detector to use. Depending on your post and your interest in coins I think you'll have a need for a good discriminator and may be a target visual ID. So the Garrett will be a good choice.

Welcome THB. :clapping: Glad you decided to join us.
My first machine was an Ace 250... loved it. Together we found all kinds of great keepers. Never, ever regretted my 250 purchase. Garrett packs a whole lot of detector into their Ace units for the money.
Looking forward to when you start posting your goodies from the ground.

Welcome to the hobby and to American Detectorists. thumbsup01 Detectors are like candy, most of them are good lol Look around at the different machines mentioned here, then review your budget and see what fits and then take the plunge lol The good news is that almost every detecor made can get you to make your purchase money back. Hope you enjoy our place thumbsup01
