Howdy diggers,
I spent 11 hours MDing today. I started with some curb hunting, then moved to my famous park for a few hours, then got permission to hunt TWO houses (across the street from each other). I found so much stuff today. I found 99 clad coins worth $6.52. I found 24 wheaties! I found 2 V nickels and what's really cool is they are dated 1883 and 1912. The first and last years that V nickels were minted! The 1912 is in AWESOME shape and has a full LIBERTY in the crown. I found 7 tokens! I found two of the coolest TOOTSIETOY CARS, both with full axles and all wheels. Here's the best part...I found 11 silvers today! Yes, 11!! That is more than double my best one day record!
I was driving around looking for an old house and I saw a really nice one on a corner lot that looked like a good candidate. The women who owns it was sitting on her back porch and she said I could hunt all I wanted. She said the house was built in 1912. As I was MDing, the guy who lives across the street came over and asked if I would like to hunt his yard also! He said his house was also pre-1920.
My E-Trac was finding them deep coins like there was no tomorrow. After 8 hours, I was getting tired so I quit digging penny signals shallower than 4 inches. I guess I was getting lazy. BUT, I have been invited back to hunt them again next Sunday too. So you know where I will be next Sunday.
After I had hunted the first house, we were all sitting on the back porch and I was showing them all my finds. The women asked if I was a wine drinker. I said yes, my wife an I really enjoy a good glass of red wine. So she breaks out this bottle of red wine and we (me, her, and the guy from across the street) had a couple glasses before I went over and detected his house. Well, I had been MDing all day and had not eaten anything, so I was feeling a bit light-headed for the first couple of targets!
I did film most of my finds but it will take me a few days to put the video together (so many keepers). Here is some pics. Thanks for looking and HH!
