What suggestions are there for a holster or tool belt for when I go to the public to hunt? I presume a carpenter's type belt, but is there ones you can suggest that will save me going all over town looking? I see pics of people with back packs and waist belts. I don't think I'll jump into a backpack quite yet. Thanks. martin

I just use a utility belt and a side pouch....Depends what all you want to carry....I just carry me Lesche and Propointer in it.....And a small magnifying glass....

That sounds about all I'd need to carry. Is a hardware store the place for the utility belt, or does Wally World carry those? martin

I'll bet wally world has'em but.....I'm sure your local hardware store has one too. Thats were I got mine.
I have the nylon one with the plastic push together type clip. I think it was 5 bucks or so.
I have my Garrett pouch, pro pointer, and Lesche on it.
It's pretty nice. Just wrap it around your waist, click, and your hunting thumbsup01

Been there, done that. Got me a small mountain hunter backpack. All the stuff will fit in and it's very comfy.

A tool belt would be ok except for the extra weight. I found a way to carry everything pretty easily. Wear Painter (construction) type Jeans with the hammer holder on the side. I tie a Walmart Bag to the Hammer holder for the trash. Lesche digger on the left side of my belt with my dirt towel hanging over the handle. This works good because when you need one you also need the other.

I wear my pinpointer on the right side of my belt. Gloves in my back pocket just in case. With this set up I always have a free hand while detecting which is more comfortable for me then having to carry something other then the detector. I get the most I can from Walmart bags between metal detecting and Mushroom hunting. lol

The only thing that changes this set up is if i'm hunting a field then the free hand gets to carry the shovel.

I use a waiter's apron, that has 4 pockets on the front, and 4 in the back (great to seperate clad, keepers, trash, etc) and clip my pro pointer to it...even have room for a bottle of water in it

Well, for my first real post here besides the welcome, I'll start with what I use. I use my EDC bag from Maxpedition. Every day carry. Its called the Jumbo Versipack. When Im not using it for metal detecting, I just use it as a tactical man bag. Maxpedition makes the best gear iv ever used.

Im working on getting the falcon-2 backpack next. Most all there backpacks have the hydration compartment.

What I first got.

They do not sale for Wal-Mart prices. They are way better then anything you will find at Wal-Mart.

Very cool stuff Dragosapien thumbsup01 Thanks for sharing- I've been looking for something more sturdy. I'm an adventurer and like to venture out far away from the car when hunting. Sometimes I use one of my diaper bags lol (mom of 2 boys)

I wear camo/cargo pants, and use a garretts zipper pouch if I go to a park. If I go to a field or woods and I plan on staying a while, I carry a Igloo backpack for food/drinks. I keep extra batteries, band aids, hand soap, aspirin, insect repellent, etc. in my glove box. If I hit a field or woods, I load up my backpack with whats in my glove box and grab my pistol and machete. I also carry a 50ft paracord and flashlight in my backpack ... just in case for whatever reason.
