I bought 8 of these NiZN batteries and a charger, and wanted to know about the safety of running these in my V3i. Each battery charges to 1.8v, so 8 x 1.8 makes for 14.4v. Will that be a safe voltage level for the detector? martin

I found the answer on another board. Carl himself says the MXT handles packs to 15V, so it sounds they are OK to use.

Usually there is a voltage regulator built in so you can't fry the components lol Never heard of Nickle Zinc batteries, and never knew they could go higher than 1.5 volts on any single battery :thinkingabout: That is interesting.

They should work great for you Martin. I use Powerex 2700, they last a lot longer than the factory battery.
