I would like to Id this button found today it has a plain front and the back says treble guilt but it also has a eagle on the rev. of the style from late 1700s to 1820. I was wondering if it were military the rev side is slightly concave. I have never heard of a military button of a plain front. Help would be appreciated.

hey Lasercat , i don't believe these type of buttons were ever affiliated with the military , more of a quality mark and to show they were American made because the eagle was associated with the United States like the crown on the similar buttons was to Great Brittain . they are pretty old though very late 1700's to very early 1800's only.
