After digging up 11 Indian Head cents from the small park during yesterday's hunt, waiting for the weekend just would not do. I couldn't wait to get back to see what else I could coax out of the ground. I did well again, though this time the wheat cents outnumbered the Indian Head cents - 26 wheat cents to 7 Indian Head cents. I had a better day with the silver coins, picking up a total of five, a silver 1876 Norway 25 Ore, a 1883 Seated dime, a 1911 Barber dime, a 1900 Barber quarter, and a 1942 mercury dime. :happydance01:

Here the Seated Liberty dime was wrapped in soil before I liberated her. :smitten:

This one was a very nice surprise; it's a Norway silver 25 Ore.

Seeing the reverse of a Barber quarter while it is still in the hole never ceases to get my pulse going. lol

The silver coins sure look great together. :smitten:

The seven Indian Head cents. These bring my total this year to 69. :happydance01:

And the 26 wheat cents; most are dated in the teens and 20's.

The rest of the finds; three old buttons and a skeleton key.

Wow... glad you decided to go back there today.
Very nice hunt Angel. Love them all, but my favorites are
most definitely the Seated and 25 Ore. The Barber quarter too.
Looks like you picked up a Police button in your digs. I found one
kind of similar. Button (http://homepage.mac.com/j.kress/AmericanDetectorist2011/large-31.html)
Congrats on a great hunt. :clapping:

Another hunt that's off the charts Angel!
I like the finds that are out of the norm.
So it's only natural that foreign, 1800's silver is going to get my nod thumbsup01
Congrats

the date on that seated dime looks odd to me , like its been redone or touched up . maybe George and his breen book can elaborate some light on this . again a great hunt as usual Angel  do you ever get tired of being consistant lol lol rofl

Thanks for the possible ID on the button Joe. :happydance01: I don't really collect buttons, but some do catch my attention, like the one in question.

Man Dan, you had me thinking that perhaps I had found an overdate seated. I took a closer look with the loupe, and while the second 8 looks a bit odd, it isn't an overdate. :crying02: I still love her though. :smitten: Thanks Dan! thumbsup01

I looked it up, but Breen's doesn't have anything listed for that years other than minor positioning variations from die to die. But Breen's is an old book by today's standards. I'm not sure who specializes in Seated coinage...but there is someone though :thinkingabout: Sometimes it's not just overdates that are found, but also inverted dates or just misaligned dates (too high or too low originally) The spot that looks suspicious to me is the rounded part to the right of the 1. Nice close up by the way thumbsup01

Not dig silver? :shocked04: When did I ever say that? :omg: Is that your wishful thinking? rofl What I said was that I was just going to leisurely enjoy my hunts, digging more of the lower tones, and not feel pressured about reaching X amount of silver. lol I did say that I would be happy with just 200 silver coins this year. lol
