Can I get an Amen... lol I got out for a nice long hunt this evening, finally in some nice weather and without puddles and mud everywhere. I headed to what I guess would be my overall best spot. It's getting a bit hunted out, though I've thought that many times before only to keep digging up more goodies. I was hoping for some silver tonight - a Rosie would have been great and a Merc would have been awesome! Instead I was rewarded with a big silver fatty - a 1942 Walking Liberty half! I couldn't believe it! I've dug 38 silver coins at this spot before now but this was the first WLH. This was my 45 hunt at this spot. You'd think I would have passed over this thing before now. One way or another I'm thrilled to finally have dug something this year that I can post with pride! :happydance01:
Total for the hunt was 39 coins, including 2 wheats and the half. One of the wheats was actually in the plug with the half. I found the half first and my heart really skipped a beat when I rescanned and got another signal! I also dug a junk arrowhead pendant with an eagle on it and some sort of odd item (on the left in the pic). Also, I have no idea what was going on with the grass, but the roots were DEEP and it made plugs dang near impossible to pull. Maybe all the rain we've had has give the grass roots a boost?
