Today I spent some time searching for the camera I lost yesterday, but I did not have success finding it. I guess I will have to give it up as truly lost. Not wanting to waste any more time, I then headed to a small park in Connecticut. When I arrived I saw that the grass had not yet been mowed, so I began detecting the outer edges of the park. Soon, though, a park worker arrived with the heavy machinery and began mowing the grass. :clapping: I now could work the desired areas. :smitten:

I picked up a couple of old wheat cents before hitting on what sounded like a deep target. I worked the coil over the target, trying to pinpoint its location, which was made difficult by the shallower trash. I thought I would be digging up a wheat cent, but instead out pops a 1864 2-Cent piece. :happydance01: It's my 5th 2-Center this year. :happydance01:

I was now fully concentrating on my hunt, and in the end I had five silver coins - four Barber dimes, dated 1900, 1905, 1914, and 1916-S, and one mercury dime, dated 1920.

I also picked up five Indian Head cents and seven wheat cents. My Indian Head cent count for the year now stands at 94. :happydance01:

To be honest, I haven't been doing much in the way of research, though I really should . I simply select certain towns or cities and look into the parks and town commons they may have. I then just make trips to detect them. Also, sometimes someone may mention a particular site I should look into, and I do. So far it has worked well for me.

Yeah, those Indian Head cents sure are popping up. :shocked04: I'm hoping to beat my total from last year. :happydance01:

I'm still trying to figure out the camera too. lol It automatically goes into macro when I bring the coin close to the lens, but I'm finding that the edges of the photo are blurred somewhat, with the center the sharper part. I need to work on having the rectangle cover the entire coin instead of a small focal point. But so far so good. thumbsup01
