Terrific finds! I love that Barber Dime, very sharp! My E-Trac seems to be very good at finding deep dimes too, but I've yet to find a Barber. (I've only been hunting for about six weeks though.)

Congrats on the productive day!

:shocked04: :shocked04: That is a low mintage and pretty pricey dime Dave |) |) Only 510,000 minted. Sweet find. 7 in a standing home with all that trash is a good depth thumbsup01 Nice find on a hard to fill space in the old album. :clapping:

Been trying to do better about those iffy signals. How would you describe yours that paid off? I always have a hard time remembering myself sometimes....the adreneline gets pumping at everysignal, and I seem to come too once the target is in hand...especially when it's a rude awakening of trash lol

I generally run at 28 myself. Took awhile to get use too, lots of noise. I've have managed a few silvers this year where the CO number bounced between 40-48 and the Fe ...well that was everywhere. Got a merc 4 inch down under a fist size rock that hit at 12-40. I don't even pay attention to the Fe number for the most part, I've been trying to get better at digging nickels, as I don't normally tend to dig the lower numbers, just depends on the surroundings. If I'm in a trashy park...forget it. If I'm in a yard, I'm digging.

Always trying to learn from others to improve myself...and not only detecting ;)

I've dug a shield, 2 buffs this year at solid 12-11s...but they were all at places producing old coins,so worth the risk of digging trash. I wasn't digging nickels at all for awhile. If I did it was only b/c they were in the same hole as another coin. lol

It's probably because that dime may have the lowest mintage, but a good portion of them survived, while a higher mintage coin may not have been seen by the dealers, leading them to believe many of them are lost or melted. So in reallity, there are probably more of them that are seen, than are the other dates. But either way, it's a real low mintage coin and you can be sure that many of them were melted or are gone for good. You have a great dime :clapping: |)
