These are finds from two hunts last week. The first photo is of five Indian Head cents I picked up on Sunday at a MA park, and the other photos are of finds from a short hunt on Tuesday at a Connecticut site.

When I first caught a glimpse of this tiny coin in the rocky soil I thought I had a Seated half dime. It turned out be a 1780 Half Reale. It's not as in great shape as the 1773 I found back in 2008, but it is still a pleasant find for sure.

Here is a photo of the one I picked up back in 2008. It is one of my favorite coins.

This is my sixth 2-Cent piece this year. There are still plenty of them out there.

Awesome! Keep on rescuing these beauties! :perfect10:

It sure would be nice to have someone filming you while you're detecting. I'd love to see the swing speed in action. Might seem like a boring 15 minute video to some, but it would be invaluable to someone like myself! Just sayin...

Angel those are some great coins and after saturdays long park hunt with the boys (its been over ten years since i park hunted) i have a renewed respect of you successful park hunters . |) |) between the common trash of bottle caps , aluminum can parts ,pull tabs , foil and EMI and of course all the modern clad its not as easy to recover that silver and older coins out of the ground but you make it look remarkably easy on a regular basis.congrats my friend :beerbuddy:

Yes, there was... it had been in the hole with an old wheat cent.

The shallower 2-Cent pieces have been hitting at around 12-39 and 12-40, though of course the deeps ones have been somewhat more bouncy.

It's hard to say after all these years, but from the past seven years I would have to say it is my rare 1786 Connecticut Copper, Miller 5.7-H.1. The last I checked with a dealer, which was a few years back, there were about 30 of this particular variety known.

Great finds, as always! That half real is awesome! Such a tiny silver coin. I love finding old Spanish coins, such history attached to them relating to Colonial America.

I'm glad to know there are still two-cent pieces out there. Maybe someday I will find one and earn my forum handle. lol
