One more Goodie

I got back out to the park this afternoon for a few hours. I only got 13 coins but did manage a 1903 V nickel. I have my tones set to where VDI #18 and 19 are set different then 20 and up. I did this so that when i got one of those bouncy signals in the nickel range i can tell real easy. This one paid off it was bouncing from 17 to 22 and was about 3 deep. Seems like coins that have been in the ground a while tend to bounce sometimes. As luck would have it i did scratch it digging it up. 8/ Good thing it already had a nic in it. :rolleyes: It made me feel better about scratching it. lol

This old park isn't hunted out yet. They are getting fewer and further between but they are still there. Just making me work harder for them. You gotta earn them at this point.

Shallow nickels ring up in the range you quoted, the 17-22 but they more likely hit right on 19 vdi for me. the 17-22s are usually nickels in the 4-6 inch range for me. Good find. I dug a 1905 v-nickel Friday at buffalo park, it was about only 2 inches deep and rang a 19. :angelic:
