handful of mercs

Knocked down a foursome of mercs today over a 5 hour hunt at the site I recently received permission to hunt. One of them is a 31S, which is one of the few mercs I've found that is worth more than melt value, and it fills another hole in my metal detecting merc album. Thanks for looking and HH

Sweet digs! Is it fair to assume you dug other coins as well? I'm guessing you just post Mercs... I'm always curious about the wheat - silver ratio.

I dug 4 wheaties today, a '11, '19 and a couple from the 40s. I hope to keep the ratio better than 3:1. I'm not big on wheaties, as the soil around here is so abusive that even a key date would be worth melt value. Case in point, I dug a copper memorial today that had a CO value of 27, that's how abused it was.

That is fascinating to me. I dug 34 wheaties today to five silvers. I don't have the confidence or skill tell the difference between silver and wheats. I look for the CO of 46, but still feel like silver might come in around 44 or 45 where most of the wheats are.

That's a nice Merc foursome! :clapping:
You really have some impressive silver finds this year. |)
Congrats Randy... especially on the 31S.
