Hello all!

This copper is a little larger that a half cent and a little smaller than a large cent...

The eagle looks early american, but I don't know *shrug*

hey Paul , i've heard of these coins but its the first one i've seen . i believe its a mexican 1/4 reale.

Nice find Paul... good work Dan ...and the value is not that easy to estimate I guess? I would have thought it was worth 3 1/8 pence (pennies) if you divide down from the larger denominations (2 Reales = 25 cents). But on one site, it said that a 6 pence (penny) coin was slightly less than the 1/4 reale (6 1/4 penny?). :dontknow: I'm guessing that through time, the Spanish money took on different values based on the current price of silver, gold and copper. But I'm going with the generic 3 1/8 pence (penny) lol

Congrats on an interesting find! Must be quite scarce as I don't think I have seen one of those posted on any forum before.
