Went out for a while this evening, as I knew tomorrow we are to get mostly rain.. I hit a local park that I've hunted a lot of time... I was keying in on low tones , since till today I had not found a ring or a nickle with the Etrac...

I started a test garden earlier this week to see the numbers I should be looking for.. of course, in today's hunt I was looking for silver, but keeping an eye on the low tones and number... and ended up with a nice 14K gold ladies ring with either a topaz or sapphire stone with 2 little diamonds.. :cheering:
I did noticed next to the 14K , it had the initials SMG. which I believe is Seattle Metals Guild...

So, off to the Jewelry store tomorrow for an appraisal...

WOW! Very cool, Scott! Congrats on the gold! |)

I also had trouble finding nickels with my E-Trac at first but I'm getting better at it. Still looking for my first gold though!

Way to go! :clapping:

Funny, I normally don't dig those low tones, this ring came up 12-07, but it did have a deeper low tone than a pull tab... and I don't have to worry about the miss's... she doesn't care for yellow gold <:
But that is not to say the daughter won't get it lol

It is a beauty you found there. I need to tackle that gold monkey yet this season... sometime. :embarrassed:
Let us know how the appraisal turns out.
Well done. :clapping:

That's a great looking ring and you didn't have to dig up a bucket full of pulltabs to find it . Very nice going .

Nice recovery on that ring. Everytime I bring home found jewelery it seems that the women are all over it.

Think your right Del, but I won't find out till later this week. A friend of mine wanted the ring to give to his wife, so we traded.. he bought a couple parts I needed for the boat and he got the ring.. I love barter trades...

Beautiful ring Scott!!! Congrats on a terrific find :clapping: Amen to the bartering process
I bet you have a lot of fun with your boat- do you ever find good MDing spots along shores, like old foundations or chimneys?

Yeah, I was gonna tell him sapphire is my birthstone  but I know his family would have first dibs lol

No I never got it appraised.. I bartered with a friend of mine,.. boat parts for the ring.. His wife is going to take it to her jeweler , she said she'll let me know what they say about it and if the stone are real or not.. both of us can't wait to see

I've found a couple foundations by the River, I haven't hit them all, only because I haven't seeked permission to do so yet.. but those I have done by the river were Ice houses at one time... Haven't found much as far as coins go, but have found plenty of buttons.

That crossed my mind when I asked that- it might be difficult to figure out who the land owners are via boat. Good luck! My favorite kind of places to hunt...

Congrats Buddy! 12-07 is usually foil for me. Did it had a more insistant tone or something that told you it wasn't the normal run of the mill 12-07? Thanks and HH, Dave.

Yeh, its usually foil for me as well, the numbers were a little flippy going from 12-07 to 13-25, but the tone is what made me dig it up...

I don't normally care for jewelry but that really is a beautiful ring. Excellent find!

I will have to teach myself those low signals and start digging them up.

I hate digging pull tabs, but that ring would make anyone change their mind. >8)

Nice ring! I am really surprised that came up at 12-07. I would have thought the Co number would have been higher.

Almost every number in that range that I have dug has been foil. That's great if you can hear good finds from foil in that range! :clapping:
