took off about noon to knock on a door of a house i been wantin to ask.after talkin with the owner a half hour and talking about history.he said knock yourself out! not the finds i was expecting from a 1860 home but i'll take em. a 1916 merc,2 plain flat buttons,2 wheaties and some clad. the pathway was an old trolly car bed behind this home. a major dumping ground up along side this bed.so sad to see lawn mowers,car parts,even a busted up hot tub :eyebrow:
i eyeballed this gem on the sidewalk today! if its not a cubic zirconia it may be worth a bit!

Not bad for the first time there :thinkingabout: Anytime you can hit a fresh location is a great hunt. It looks like there is a mintmark of some kind on that '16 Merc though. Maybe, just maybe it is lol

no mintmark just looks like something there in the pic.yeah the bugs are brutal but not stopping us from cellar holes. i took a guy from texas to 6 diff cellar holes on thursday.he never been to a colonial site and was dying to find a large cent.
just didnt work out for either of us that day.
one lone beat IH.he got a few flat buttons
