This past month my friends and I have been hunting an old church camp established in early 1890's. The people who run this place are so friendly and enjoyed seeing our finds- said that Missy, Bill & I can visit anytime :)

A couple weeks ago we hunted under this pavillion (they suggested hunting there because the foundation was recently dug up). Thus all of our coins were found just an inch or 2 deep! Missy found her first IH 1892 & a 1919 wheat. I found 1917 merc, 1920 buff and 6 wheats 1911, 1919 and rest from the 30's. Bill found a nice silver ring w/purple stone under a nearby tree that he gave his 9 yr old grandaughter.

Yesterday I didn't find any good coins, but this anklet sure got my heart racing. :happydance01: I found it in the grassy area in front of the pavillion about 2 deep. Help! I can't figure out what it's made of! It looks like silver, (hoping it's white gold lol) and rang out as gold/foil VDI of 8/10 range. Perhaps it's picking up the little bells... The clasp looks like heirogyphs &quot:beerbuddy:MK inside the little duck. On the underside it says RCPL. I've googled both of these and greek language comes up, leading me to believe it's foreign. It is pretty heavy (.56 oz) and well-made. It's Sunday so I can't take it in to a jewelry store to get checked. Anyone have any ideas??

Great finds Tana :happydance01: That place rocks lol Nice looking bracelet and the low VDI reading is a good thing. Maybe white gold :dontknow: I was looking over some gold recently and could not find a Karat stamping anywhere. Then I noticed a jump ring with the 10K in the smallest letters I have ever seen. I was expecting it to be on the clasp. So look every individual molecule over, on the anklet lol.

Thanks! Yeah, it was by word of mouth that I found this place. Older people are def a great way to learn about community and potential sites. This one is out in the boonies quite a ways from my home...

Btw, our local MD club is hoping to do a group hunt there next spring- for anyone who lives near Kentucky.

Thanks Joe! I am so baffled by the initials, I've Googled RCPL and BMK to no avail. I found a BMK Jewelers in Wisconsin but he says they've never done anklets and not their siggy. I called another jewelry store about all the initials and he said sounds like manufacturers trademarks/signature and that it must have a 925 or K somewhere. I looked it over for a long time with my loupe and it dawned on me that the clasp is missing 8/ It prob had 24 K on it

Anyway, the jeweler said bring it in and he'll test it for me - going later today! thumbsup01 Wish me luck!

Really nice Tana!!! :happydance01: Congrats... looks like a great place!

Thanks guys! Yes, it is a very peaceful, nice place and shady too  lots of big trees. Awful nice on these 90 + degree days! Btw I take a small cooler of ice/water, dunk my bandana every 10 minutes & put it around my neck. I couldn't do it otherwise :-\ ...absolutely miserable out there lately!

Great bracelet there, Tanacat.
Looks like Sterling from the photos. Stange it isn't marked with the fineness.

Do you have an acid test kit? Saves a lot of trips to the jewelers.

Thanks! Yep, the ankelet (extra long bracelet) is silver... took it to a jeweler and it didn't pass the gold test.

Yeah you're right, I need to get an acid test kit... thumbsup01 The 925 or Sterling must've been on the missing clasp.
