hey do any of you seem to find a particular coin or item :eyebrow: besides the usual pulltabs , oxknob or junk on a semi- regular basis:huh: in the last two seasons i've pulled four (4) 1831 large cent coppers , which is kinda odd enough but every one of them have been in pretty good shape (some just a little more worn than others is all)
and the odds of that have to be incredibly slim. i know Coinnut one year seemed like every other coin he pulled out of the ground was an 1803 large cent (how many did you find that year George and how many do you have in total:huh:) so lets see or hear about your most frequent particular coin or relic or item. :yes:

:rolleyes: Since you've ruled out the aluminum style pulltabs lol
I guess I would have to say the 1944 wheatie :dontknow: It seems if I'm in a area where I'm finding wheaties it never fails. I'll pull at least one 1944. :rolleyes: I mean why couldn't it be the 1877 IH lol

:thinkingabout: It'll be interesting to see what comes in abundance for others :dontknow: :-> :-> :->

My odd find that is recurring, is this strange guy that I find at almost all my Saturday hunts. I think he drives a jeep rofl
[attachimg=1]

Other than that oddity, I find a lot of duplicates. :thinkingabout:

I can only find two 1803's that have really nice, clear dates, The rest are not very readable, so instead, I am going to go by theme here lol We find a lot of different items relic hunting, like crotal bells (I have a big jar full of them) or flat buttons, but this year has been a good year for finding Seated silver at cellar holes. So here are my 6 Seated coins, 3 of which were found at cellar holes, 1 at a park, and 1 at a picnic area and 1 at an undisclosed location lol. I have never found 6 Seated coins in one year ever. :happydance01: To me this is definitely odd for my type of hunting lol

Okay, I seem to find alot (seems it to me) of these buckles. Last year it was an every hunt occurance to bring some home with me. Did'nt know what to do with them so I put them in a cigar box. Do any relic hunters see any old ones??

very nice Al , most are just horse tack type buckles from harnesses . i do see a a colonial shoe buckle frame (big rectangular one on the left side) and a couple of the ones in the lower picture are sure interesting looking .

In my short 7 months of detecting (almost everyday) I have found about a hundred 200 year old items (copper/pewter/iron). I have ONLY found four coins. They are a 1891 IH, and 1919, 1951, 1952 wheats. Never found a clad coin. The other day I even had trouble finding the clad in my test garden :grin:

Humph...one of my 3 wheats is a 1919. Maybe people threw their pennies in the air in joy following the war.....or maybe they had the flu and dropped pennies in a feverish state. I hope it was joy.
