We lost power so I'm trying to post this via my phone. I've been detecting my neighbors 30 acres to very limited success. Until today. The owner is our beloved, retired school secretary of 40 years. About 20 years ago the district had Ms Hername Day where she received a service pin. She must have dropped it on her lawn 20 years ago. Today I found it and sold it...kidding, I gave it to her making her very happy. A few minutes later I found a my first colonial coin!! What a day! Ill post pics when I can figure it out without power. I hope everyone made out okay with the storm.
edit: I'm not cleaning it well :hairpulling: the back has more green stuff on it than the front.

hey Drew i cropped and rotated your picture some , it is indeed a Ct. copper looks like a 1787 or 88 variety it hard to tell which because of the low die struck back and the dirt still on it . its a great first colonial coin to find , huge congrats to you. :peace: :peace:

Thanks jkress, I knocked on the lady's door as soon as I found the pin, then ran to the door a few min later with the coin (which she had no use for), then I STOPPED DETECTING. I didnt even check the area around the coin. I did the next day though. Anyone else just stop when they find something good.
