Cliff , that was a great looking ring but even a greater example of unselfishness and the level of character you showed by returning it to the owner is second to none . (in my book) well done sir and congrats on the award. :perfect10:

Thanks everyone, this was really unexpected especially what with only starting the hobby this June.. I could kick myself in the butt for not starting earlier in life and the wife probably wishes I had too since I'm as she says obsessed with metal detecting and trying my darndest to make up for lost time. As for returning the ring, I think anyone would have if you would have seen the lady's face as they stood on the shore where she had exited the water. I'll have the picture and the memories forever and I'm sure I'll have the chance at another one as nice that doesn't have an owner near tears on the shore!

I'll be off to OC Maryland in a week for another chance and I can't wait. After finding beach and water hunting, I want to move to the beach area more than ever.

Thanks again everyone
Cliff
