Lee your copper looks like a colonial vermont State copper (landscape variety)
like this kind , its to bad about the condition as it would of been worth some $$$

Lee , they are pretty rare and the date around 1785-86 , it will be extremely difficult to get the exact variety (6 total). its a nice coin |:cheering:

That is a spectacular coin, Lee! Hey, as long as it's identifiable, that's what counts, and that one clearly is.

i acturly was getting a lot of deep signals del telling me thay where coins but once i whent into pinpoint mode i could not get a pinpoint on the target properly (whites coin master) so i thought it best not to dig for fear of hitting the target with my trowl or making an unsightly mess with the mud.
realy would like you to come over to weathersfield at some stage del so you can av a bash with your machine mate, infact any of you nerds are welcome over to swing a coil with me any time....i just love you guys......sob sob.....im welling up here...sob sob.....
