I got out again this weekend for a little hunt. Met up with Herm, and spent several hours detecting a beautiful old park. I had the camera along, but left it cased up, and just relaxed and enjoyed the hunt. The Wheats were plentiful, and the Silver elusive. Still had a great time comparing hits over finds and tweaking the V3/V3i. In the end I had 13 Wheats, a Silver Rosie, and an old Silver Turquoise child's ring. The ring was about 6 to 7 inches deep. I am really looking forward to the Fall hunts. The weather is cool and the sun feels good. I may just have to play hooky one day this week. :thinkingabout:

The days take...

Congrats on the silver! And a ton of wheats. That ring is very nice :happydance01: I don't find a lot of rings, but to me, seeing those come out of the ground is actually better than silver coins. (I can't believe I just said that... )

Now is the perfect detecting weather. I hope you can get out again this week Jack.

Good hunt Jack! This probably isn't a true statement, but in my estimation, silver is almost always elusive in Colorado. I don't know if has to do with the age of our areas, or the number of detectorists, but when you find silver here, you know you've had a great hunt!

Thanks for sharing! :beerbuddy:

You are right Viking, it's not a true statement. lol Plenty of Silver to be had. It's hiding at depth in the trash. A slow pace, and patience will bring it to the light of day for you. I have had 30 hunts this year, most of them 2 hour hunts at the end of the day at local parks. I have 32 Silver coins so far. All but one are Dimes. I have not hunted a lot, but those hunts have produced. Believe that you can find these coins and learn your detector. The coins are there waiting. Trust me.

Nice pile of wheat, congrats on the silver! I can almost smell the fresh mountain air hunting in the Colorado parks by your descriptions!
