Modest finds still great

Another week of work work work... meaning no evening hunts. Saturday was busy too, but I did get out for a short hunt in the dirt where I scored an odd pin, some wheats, and a '46 Rosie. Sunday I did the tot lot thing and hit a large cluster of them a few towns over. They didn't hold the treasures I'd hoped for but I did alright. The wood chips at one of them were laced with chewed up chunks of copper and brass, and I accumulated an ounce or so of each, which I threw in my respective scrap buckets. On my way home I tried the dirt again hoping for more silver but wound up with another few wheats only as well as a nifty older Boy Scout pendant with the old pledge promising to be square. This is the second pendant like this I've found, and the wording still cracks me up. If anyone can ID the pin with the eagle on it next to the pendant, that would be great.

Total for the weekend was 135 coins worth $10.31. At this point I'm happy just getting out, regardless of what I find (though the Rosie sure didn't hurt).

Happy hunting!

Nice haul of clad! Congrats on the silver |:cheering: and the cub scouts badge too.

I've been collecting copper in a 5 gallon bucket. Wish I'd been saving brass all this time too. It sure adds up...

Wow, that sure is a lot of coins! Congrats on the Rosie, it is always fun finding silver! Several wheat cents too!

Nice going! :clapping:

Excellent digs z :perfect10: I am having to live vicariously, as I haven't been able to get out. Tons of coins, congrats on the silver!

I like the boy scout square pendant. Haven't seen one of those before.

Cool! thumbsup01 That ones before my time.
When I was in scouts we didn't have to be square. lol
It's not hip to be square I guess \:hammer: lol
Man you piled up some clad Z! Wow! Over 10 bucks!
And you even got a silver Rosie to top it all off! Sweet! :clapping:
Congrats

Wow... nice amount of clad Z. :clapping:
Yep, the clad sure adds up. There are not many hobbies out there where you can
come back with more in your pocket than when you left with.
Congrats on the oldies, wheats and a bonus silver make for a great smile.

Glad to see that you managed to get some hunting time. As always, you have impressive numbers and I really like the Rosie. I have yet to find one of those. And isn't it great detecting weather?

Army Sqecialist rand insignia

The pin looks like a specialist insignia. I saw plenty of them when I was in the Air Force and they are probably still in use. Looks like you racked up a nice bunch of clad there.
