:wow: I had real gold and I didn't even know it. I snagged this ring on a hunt at a soccer field a while back. It looked nice but I just thought it was a nice piece of costume jewelry. Today I was cleaning it and I saw the inscription on the inside of the ring. It's stamped 10K. So, this is actually my first piece of real gold I've found metal detecting. Cool! I just did a happy :happydance01: dance WAY after the fact.

I'll be stopping by the jewelry store later to see how much it might be worth. With any luck the stones will be real too.
Happy Hunting to you all!

I stopped by the jeweler near my house before work. He ended up giving my $50 for the ring. He said it was two pennyweight. For 10K he pays out 25 for each pennyweight. (If I had 14K I would have made about $100) I hope I got a good deal! Either way I'm $50 richer...minus $20 for the wife of course. (I should have kept my big mouth shut) lol

Congratulations on your find. First gold is exciting. Gives a person gold fever. The only cure for this fever is find more. May your legs be aching from many happy dances. Happy hunting.
