Once again today I met up with DaddyDigger (Dave) to hunt at the same park we hunted at last weekend. We met at the park at 8:00 a.m. and hunted for a good five hours straight before breaking for lunch. Dave ended up with a Merc, a Rosie, some wheaties, a really nice men's silver ring, and a ton of clad. Last weekend Dave found two silver quarters and today it was my turn. I found two silver Washingtons in front of the school that sits on the old park site. I also found nine wheaties, a couple flat buttons, a small silver ring that is marked Sterling, and some clad. I was very happy to find two silver quarters in one day, I haven't done that in a long time!

After lunch we tried a different park but I didn't find any old coins there this time, only clad. Dave found a few wheats though.

Here are my finds for the day:

Wheats cents, Memorials, clad dimes, and quarters:

Here is the second silver quarter I found (1936) at the bottom of the hole before I dislodged it. It was pretty deep and to be honest I was hoping for a Standing Liberty. Maybe next time!

Here is the little sterling silver ring I found:

Here is the two-piece flat button. To my recollection I have never found one before, and I don't know a thing about them. It looks like it might say Waterbury on the back?

I found my 47th and 48th silver coins of the year, slowing inching towards my goal of 50.

All in all it was a very enjoyable day with some nice finds and some good conversation over lunch. Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

I knew everyone would be jealous of my cool skull ring! rofl

I didn't know what that other object was either, but Dave told me it's a lead seal. On both sides it says, Wm J. Lemp St. Louis, MO. A quick Google search tells me that this was a brewery in St. Louis from 1840-1922. A history of the William J. Lemp Brewing Company:

I'm glad that ring turned out to be silver Tony! Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with you and making some great finds.

That new park I checked out on the way home looks super promising. I'm already thinking silver halves are just waiting for us there! Best wishes and HH, Dave. p.s. I found a total of 99 coins today!
