I received permission to detect private property which has a house dating back to 1723. So far I have visited 3 times for roughly 16 hours of detecting. Coin total is 85, including 3 silver, 23 wheaties, 1 IH, 1LC, 1 two center and a buffalo nickel.

I've really enjoyed the wide range of relics I've found. Most amazing are the two partial colonial buckles I found. First, they are the largest I have ever seen, almost the size of my hand. Second, is the fact that I found parts of a matching pair. At first I thought I found the remainder of the other, until I matched them up and realized they overlapped.

The 1852 large cent has some of the best details I've ever dug. Also, the gold plated wheatie is pretty neat.

Also a lot of copper relics with 1800's patent dates. The comb item, has a 1805 patent date. It looks to me to be a lice comb.

A couple what is it's I'll post in other posts.

Thanks for looking.

Great finds.

Al and I hit several 1700's/1800's houses recently and haven't come up with squat >{

Thanks, I can't wait to get back. I'm trying to find that balance between going as often as I want, and not peeving off the property owners because I'm always over there. These people have given me permission to dig at 5 other old properties over the past couple years, so I don't want to mess up my connection. The house I'm at now is their actual primary residence, so no mistakes!

Oh mama!! :drool:
Awesome display of finds. I love the variety this site is offering. Especially the goodies. :smitten:
This looks like a dream site in the making. 1723 just blows my mind. I'm lucky to find sites here
that date back to the mid 1800's.
I'm definitely looking forward to your next post from this site.
A big congrats mdakin! :clapping:
