Ron called me last night and talked me into a hunt this afternoon. We spent 90 minutes at a park that has been on my list since last year.

This park is definitely worthy of a return trip for a much longer hunt. The soil here is sandy and very gentle on coins. Surprisingly, the coins we found were not deep at all, especially considering the sandy soil.

The Wheat cent was about 4 inches and the Barber right around 3. Ron picked up a real beauty tangled in the roots of the grass. :shocked04:

Very nice looking coins, Joe! I love the Barber Dime! :smitten:

That wheat cent looks great too. You found a 1915-D today and I found a 1913-D. What do you say we split the difference tomorrow?

Great hunt! I can't wait to see what else you find at that park! thumbsup01

Yeah... he definitely recovered the find of the day. :clapping: I believe we are going to that spot tomorrow.

Thanks JR. I feel like I cracked the door open to what is still sitting in the ground at parks this summer. I still worry what I'm leaving behind.

What do you say we split the difference tomorrow?

  :daydream:

Can I come too?

Absolutely! I'd love to have someone with your expertise come along. I always wonder what I am missing and you could show me. :)
We'll be there tomorrow... so you better start driving now. lol

Beatiful Barber. Love those Barbers. People say one will never forget their first silver. I also will never forget my first Barber. A great looking coin.
