Well guys, does it feel like the hunting season is coming to a end. I guess its time to tally up the finds, clean the detectors and start the research. Maybe Garrett will come out with a new GTI detector this winter that I can drool over, like I need another. >:\ :white:usaflag::

I feel for you all back in the Northeast with the onslaught of winter approaching. Take a trip to sunny California. Not to rub it in, but we have clear weather here in Northern California ( North Bay Area) temps in the mid 70s. Alas, all good things come to an end for awhile. Rest up, there will be other days. Until then, kick back and relax. I hope your winter will be mild and the sun comes out every now and again to warm you all up.

Thanks for that. If I do head west I'll be stopping in Arizona,New Mexico with a new AT Gold that I don't own yet. What a plan. <:

Some of you New Englanders had some snow. 30+ in NH. :frozen: It is going to warm enough to melt. You can then get back to detecting a little longer. Here in Wisconsin, I have only had to deal with some frost, and I know it won`t be long before the white stuff makes an extended stay (lucky for me I snowmobile). The sun is out and it`s melting. rofl

After all the snow in the northeast, I tried a couple of hunts in the snow. I don't know how much it affects the workings of the detector but it was messy to say the least. Unless it melts and I can get in some more days of hunting, my depression :crying02: will set in quickly. Perhaps all those nice folks in the warmer part of the country will host a bunch of us for a month long group hunt this winter. lol lol lol

last year was the first year ( due to snow amounts) in about 5 or 6 that i didn't detect all year long , our 8 inches of snow is already melted and from the looks of it i'll be out next friday and saturday . i think the coldest i've been out in was about 10 or 15 below freezing in the morning but i warmed up to a balmy 10 degrees lol lol . i would recommend some type of insulated cover for a detector in weather below 20 degrees or they start to act funny.

After 7 days w/o power,it makes you appreciate electricity a whole lot more. I can't imagine living here in the winter before electricity was invented. It was hell for everyone, especially us who have health problems. Thank God it's over.

del, That's not the only thing that starts to act funny, I'm going crazy hoping someone will take me out somewhere :callme: . If I suffer the next day, My wife will be the only one that will have to deal with my complaining about the pain, She's use to it by now anyway.
LOL Seriously though I'm waiting for this Pain Specialist to call me soon. It's not the walking, I just need to take more breaks than before . Anyways, there have been some awesome days this week, huh?

I have enough health problems without tick bites oir killer mosquitoes.I seem to becoming a grumpy old man too.I hope to get out detcting soon before the winter sets in. I plan to detect snow piles this winter , beach hunting this year was fruitless. :embarrassed:

My partner's best coin find ever was taken out of a block of ice in mid winter. No snow or frozen ground and we'll be out there.

Some of us hunt the beaches after winter storms, others drink cocoa by the fireplace, i may do both.It may be tough though i don't have a fireplace.

some of you know the storie of this 1939 coin, there is a forum member on this forum who out of the kindness of his heart offered to get it out the frozen ground for me.he had a crazed look in his eyes as he attacked the ground with his digger. It would have been my first silver.I try not to think about it too often.

Got freezing rain and snow here in Michigan today. It's snow, rain and lightning and the cable went out half an hour ago. Hopfully it will melt and get warm again a few times in December. Or i can get in some woods hunting before the year ends. If not i'll just spend more quality time with my wife and sons. :shocked03:  :hairpulling:
