No not Tony Orlando and his song but door knocking again. Diane and I went out today to do some door knocking; knocked three times and got three permissions. First house was built in 1900 but we quickly found out that there had been so much landscape renovation that there was little but clad to be found. We moved on to a house built in 1832 after talking to the lady she said the house has been hunted numerous times and that there has never been much found. I did get a wheat and a clad quarter and some interesting bits of copper and brass bits but that is all. Third house was one we have tried before but nobody was home then but today the owner was super gracious and said go ahead so with anticipation we started at this 1830’s house. I quickly found a wheat and then one of the most interesting things I have ever found, a homemade bracelet made up of wheat pennies! The six wheats that constitute the bracelet are dated 1940, 1942, 1944, 1946, 1947 and 1949. My other wheats are 1930, 1940, 1957-D and 1944-D. Diane ended up with two wheats 1955-D and a 1956. I also got a 1937 Merc and Diane got an interesting artifact a Genuine Olga Pocahontas coal scatter tag. Coal scatter tags were widely used between the 1930’s and 1950’s to build brand loyalty among consumers They were small aluminum or cardboard disks that were scattered into railcar or truck shipments of coal which allowed customers to recognize their favorite coal. We had hoped for more at this last house but we were invited back and there is much more ground to cover over this large property.

Cool finds! That wheatie bracelet is certainly one of a kind! Must've been a blast to pull it out of the ground!

Very interesting bracelet you got there. Isn't it nice to get three permissions when you only asked three times? Congrats on some nice hunting.
