Got out today today to a site I hit a couple of times last week. Finished off a grid I started last week and pulled 2 silver dimes in the first couple of hours :happydance01:
Its a huge site, and after the grid of the most promising section was finished, wasn't really sure where to go next, so sounded around for 90 minutes, and had one wheat to show for it. Decided to write off huge sections of the site, and concentrate on another section that I had marked as promising.
This section gave up an 1898O barber Q fairly quickly <:, and I thought I was in a hot zone, but after another two hours of gridding, added just another merc to the pouch. The barber Q is the first silver I've found in a while that is worth more than melt value (tho not much more), and the first O mint coin I have ever found.
When that section had played out, I had about an hour left, and hoped the site had one more silver in it for me today, and I managed to pull a another rosie very late for a 5 spot on the day, in a new, less promising section I decided to set up a grid on. Its a small gird, and I'll probably finish it out this week. Hopefully there is one more silver in there for me. We'll see.
