Brass item from old neighborhood

I was wondering if anyone knew what this is? It's 5 long, heavy, and solid. When I dug it up, I thought it was a hose nozzle/sprayer, but there is no hole in it. There are some threads in the bottom of it, so it screwed onto something.

Any ideas?

It looks like a finall - what del said nailed it. Big ones like that as he said are seen on beds, smaller ones I've found could be from a lamp. My parents have a couple antique brass framed electric lamps my grandfather got in the 1920's and they have small finals above where the bulb screws in.

Thanks guys, that's exactly what it is- an old brass finial/knob to a bed post. :clapping: Here is a picture with a whole bunch of them.

Thanks!
