This morning I headed back to the old ball park for a three-hour hunt. The old coins aren't plentfyful at this site, but I manage to find some keepers every time I hunt there.

The first interesting find of the day was the 1881 Indian Head cent, which makes the second IH I have found there. I was pleased to find one so old, even if it is pretty toasted. The 1911-D Barber Dime came about 20 minutes later and about 20 feet away. This is the third Barber Dime I have found at this site. After finding some wheaties and clad, the 1938-S Mercury Dime came near the end of my hunt near a big tree. It was directly under a place where a mole had been tunneling. I had to destroy the poor mole's tunnel to get to the Merc. lol

It was a very decent fall day for detecting, even if a bit windy. Not many days like this left this year, I'm afraid.

Sweet finds!!!! :loveit:
I have yet to find an I.H. cent or a barber dime.
I'll be happy to let you find my next seated dime if i can find your next barber dime.
Find a park that's old with big trees and hunt in the trees. Those old dimes are hiding under the small roots. >:/ a pain to dig around though.

Nice finds Tony! It's sweet finding those IH's even if their toasted. Congrats on the barber and merc! Not many days left for hunting-already wearing the long underwear lol Hopefully you will get a few more out of there before the snow comes!

Great hunt Tony. Finding an IH and a Barber in the same hunt makes it perfect. Then add a Merc... <:
I'll bet Barber #4 is hiding there somewhere for you.
Congrats on some nice keepers Tony.

Hi Dave! I hope you get feeling better! Those seated halves at Garfield Park are still waiting for us!

I think I'll head back up to the ball park in Bellflower again today if the rain holds off. Hopefully I'll find that Barber #4. thumbsup01

More silver, and one of them is the elusive (for me) Barber dime. Congrats on the IH, I know I have read that your not getting many of them. WTG Tony.
