I was sorting through some trash from this seasons mding and came across an especially large rimfire shell casing. I have included the typical .22 caliber shell in the picture for reference. This casing is 1.5 times the length and I would estimate 3-4 times the diameter of a regular .22. Any help appreciated.
Thanks for looking.

My guess is it's a 44 Henry rim-fire casing that was made by UMC :dontknow:
:thinkingabout: Does it look like it might be a 44 cal. ? :dontknow: It's kinda hard to tell from just the top.
How about a shot of them side by side. :dontknow:

I agree that .44 Henry is the likely candidate. I wasn't aware the UMC ever made any, but it certainly makes sense.

Perhaps the use of an inside micrometer could better reveal the caliber.

I am thinking maybe a 30 caliber or something simuliar. I don't think it's large enough for a 44 henry. More pics for better sizing comparison. Thanks

Yeah your probably right. Not quite as big as I originally thought :dontknow: lol
Here's a discussion on the 30 cal. rim fire from a rim fire forum.
