Please take a few minutes and read about Senate Bill 81. The folks there could use out help. If you decide to help jot a short note that can be copied and pasted. Lots of reps to email, but we can make a difference if we try.

Thanks,
DS

Alabama has serious budgetary concerns over her various jurisdictions, including the largest municipal bankruptcy in American history. It is laughable that they could find the resources to expand their cultural heritage program in this way at this time.

I commend your efforts to preserve your rights as citizens to explore and collect your own history without interference from bureaucrats.

I am new to the forum, but I love this kind of action. I will make some calls on Monday, and I will report on them here. I would love to support this!

Just goes to show you that some of these folks that get hired to direct hugh commissions think they have a mandate to do whatever they like. But, its not nice to fool with Mother Nature, or the guys who sign your check. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

I was reading about this today on Dick Stout's web site. I'll have to check it out again and see who to email, after all email is easy. Restrictive laws on our detecting can happen anywhere - any state or province. I think I saw some sample letters on there. My approach as an out of stater would be along the lines of NOT spending my tourist dollars in Al. I like to take a detector when I travel and I'd pick another deep south state that allows more freedom to enjoy my pursuit of happiness.
