Hi, everyone. I'm neww to this forum. I was invited to come here by Cybersage and notice lots of familiar names from other forums and as long as I am in this great hobby I enjoy all new and old aquaintences. My MDing hobby startd in 1972 but has had a number of years spent in other interests. I've had many great days out in the field and met many very knowlegable hunters. Maybe I can contribute a little to the forum---I hope. ;)

Welcome to the forum from the frozen corn fields of Illinois
The whole group is great we all learn from each other.

Welcome aboard Jay. I started detecting right around when you did  Those were good days lol Glad you found us and we are happy to have another veteran detectorist here. I'm sure you can add to our forum. Love to see some of your finds and hear your stories :)

Hey Jaybird!

Welcome to the forum. Make yourself at home. Can't wait to get together for a hunt again... if the snow ever goes away that is. lol

Howdy Jay!
Welcome to the forum! I'm new around here myself, as I just joined up
yesterday. While I have lived in Colorado for a good number of years, I
grew up in Illinois. Naturally, I am curious what part of Illinois you are in?

I started detecting the first week of August, 2007. So, by contrast with
many on this forum, I am a relative rookie! That hasn't kept me from
making some shpadoinkle finds though.

Welcome again to the forum, and hope we find it a great place to pallaber.

Blessings,
M-Taliesin

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome to the forum. Welcome to M Taliesin. I grew up in Nebraska and attended my first THing contest in 1974 I believe. It was held in Leroy, Ne. We had a special guest that year at our hunt--- Karl Von Mueller. We had a veryinteresting evening telling stories around the camp fire. Somewhere around then I realized that this was more than just a hobby. The more people I meet in this hobby, like 2 years ago at our hunt meeting Daryl Townley, the more interesting it is. Happy Huntin' to all---see you in the hunt field.
Jay
